Our location within the Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub (BEST) allows us to provide minor injury management and referral pathways to radiology and neighbourhood allied health services for sporting injuries. We understand that every patient is unique, and we strive to provide personalised care that meets your specific needs.

In addition, Healthicare offers referrals to service providers and social services, such as housing, welfare, employment services, addiction support and domestic violence. We are committed to providing comprehensive care that aligns with the extended primary care model led by GPs specialised in helping children and families.

We hope that our services will help you achieve your health goals and improve your quality of life. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to book an appointment.

FAQs

What is Healthicare?

At Healthicare, we are committed to providing comprehensive care that addresses the social determinants of poor health outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. We have partnered with the Mt Druitt Medical Practitioners Association (MDMPA) to create a Neighbourhood Health Hub that serves as an extension to neighbouring general practices and other providers. Our goal is to provide access to wraparound services that support those with complex care needs.

Why is Healthicare being established in Western Sydney?

Healthicare is a new health service that aims to help people in Western Sydney. It is run in partnership with the Mt Druitt Medical Practitioners Association (MDMPA).

Healthicare will work with GPs and other health professionals to provide better care for people who need it most. This includes people who are very unwell and have many health problems.

Healthicare will use a new way of working together called a “neighbourhood-based model of care”. This means that GPs and other health professionals will work together to help people in their local area. The goal is to improve the health and social outcomes of the most vulnerable families in Western Sydney.

What services are available?

Healthicare provides a range of services to cater to everyone who requires holistic health care. Our GPs have special interests in child and family, complex chronic conditions and mental health. We aim to wrap all your health care services into one unified Neighbourhood Health Hub, supporting surrounding general practices with access to services for those with complex care needs.

In addition to general GP services, we provide patient-activated services to help you navigate problems you may have with your health from a new perspective. These services include:

  • Minor injury management and referral pathways to radiology and neighbourhood allied health services
  • Referrals to service providers and social services such as housing, welfare, employment services, addiction support and domestic violence
  • Shared antenatal care with Westmead and Blacktown Public Hospitals
  • In-house podiatry
  • Psychologist support
  • Childhood, adult, and travel vaccinations
  • Skin checks, including liquid nitrogen freezing for sunspots and warts
  • Comprehensive chronic disease management
  • Diabetes education
  • Minor surgery
  • Clinical pharmacist in-house medication reviews and education
  • On-site pathology
Who can access Healthicare?

Healthicare is available to anyone who requires access to health care services we offer. We support neighbouring GPs who may wish to refer their patients and are also available to community members who do not have a regular GP.

We are especially looking forward to caring for families with young children, complex chronic conditions and mental health concerns.

How do patients make an appointment?

You can book an appointment online by using the book appointment link and by following the prompts on HotDoc. Alternatively, you can call us on 1800 828 828 (free call) between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Do patients need a referral?

No referral is required to book an appointment.

Are services bulk-billed?

Yes, all eligible services at Healthicare are bulk-billed for patients with a valid Medicare card. If you do not have a valid Medicare card, you will be charged an out-of-pocket fee of $90. Please check with the health professional at the beginning of your consultation. Some exceptions for services may apply and we will advise you in those circumstances.

Patient Forms

We want to provide you with the best possible health care services. To do this, we need to collect some information from you. We will ask you to fill out some forms and questionnaires. We will also ask you some questions directly.

Sometimes, we may need to get information from someone else who knows you well, like your GP or a family member. We may also share your information with other health care providers and third parties to help you get the right care. We will always ask for your permission before we do this.
